Biography
Dr. Webb earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed his five year general surgery residency at Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, MS before serving as a military general surgeon for four years. During this time, Dr. Webb was deployed to Korea and the Philippines, where he became interested in plastic surgery and saw its high demand.
Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Webb entered a three year Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. Unlike most two year residency programs, this three year program offered extended training at nationally recognized centers including the Christine Kleinert Institute for Microvascular and Hand Surgery in Lousiville, Kentucky and the US Army Burn Unit at Fort Sam Houston and the University of Texas Medical Center, both in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Webb spent the following 10 years as the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, MS. While at Keesler, Dr. Webb gained vast experience performing a broad range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. He also participated in more than 12 humanitarian missions to Central and South America, performing reconstructive surgery for children with cleft lips and palates, surgery of the hand, and reconstruction for patients with burns and wounds. After the attacks of 9/11/2001, Dr. Webb coordinated Forward Surgical Teams, which provided direct medical support to the President of the United States during overseas journeys to Egypt, Australia, and Vietnam.
In addition, Dr. Webb was chosen and volunteered to lead surgical support teams attached to Special Operations Forces deploying to undisclosed locations, forward the frontline, during Operation Enduring Freedom. For this service, he earned a Joint Meritorious Service Medal in 2002. In 2003, we was again asked and volunteered to serve as the primary surgeon for the Special Forces infiltrating Iraq, which earned him the highly-decorated Bronze Star for the life-saving support his team brought to injured soldiers in isolated forward locations.
Dr. Webb has also held the position of Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of South Alabama and as head physician of New Horizons Plastic Surgery, LLC in Foley, AL, before relocating his practice to Kingsport, TN in June 2009.
Dr. Webb boasts over 23 years of surgical experience, during which, has performed over 4,500 surgical procedures. He is Board Certified in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery and holds credentials in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Dr. Webb is able to offer his patients the most advanced procedures in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery by being up-to-date with the emerging technologies and options now available to patients.
Dr. Webb is married and the proud father of four children.
Dr. Webb's Patient Philosphy
Dr. Webb sees each patient first as a person, then as a patient with unique needs and desires. He understands the emotional apprehensions each patient brings with them as they seek to change some aspect of their appearance. Dr. Webb shows sincere concern for each of his patient's general health and understanding of their options and risks. Recommendations are only given after he has had a chance to get to know his patients and their concerns.
Dr. Webb says that he wants his patients to feel they have an understanding of their options and be comfortable with their decision; because they are confident in their surgeon and supported by his staff. Dr. Webb's attention and concern for his patients doesn't stop with the completion of each surgery. Strongly believing that "The after-care is as important as the planning and performance of the surgery" Dr. Webb's patients can rest assured that the integrity and commitment they experienced at their initial consultation will continue to their last visit.
