While other less invasive procedures such as Botox® and Restylane® help reduce the appearance of light wrinkles, they cannot correct deep-set wrinkles in the same fashion as a face lift. Since face lifts involve lifting the facial skin and muscles, you will get much more dramatic results than other less invasive anti-wrinkle procedures.

The exact specifics of face lifts vary from patient to patient, as some people will require more detailed surgery than others. Most face lift patients require the removal of excess fat to ensure the surface is smooth and bulge-free. While each individual needs to be assessed on a case-by-case basis, all face lifts involve tightening the facial muscles and then redraping the face and neck skin. Many prospective patients inquire about techniques they may have heard about such as a short-scar face lift or a Life-Style lift or a thread lift. When you receive a face lift, you will be in surgery for several hours and usually receive a local anesthesia and IV sedation. Your face will be bruised and swollen following the surgery; however, you will be able to be up after one to two days. Patients return to the office one week after surgery to have stitches removed. Patients will continue to have bruising for up to 14 days and swelling may persists for a full month following surgery.
