About Rhinoplasty
New Horizons Plastic Surgery, Dr. H. James Webb, FACS
The nose is the centerpiece of the face and can set the tone for a person's entire appearance. It's no surprise, then, that the shape of each individual's nose can have a large effect on not just their self-esteem, but the way the world perceives them. Rhinoplasty is available to give you the well-proportioned face you'll love.
Rhinoplasty nose surgery can be used for a variety of nose-shaping techniques such as reducing or enlarging the nose size, altering the nose bridge, or changing the shape of the nose tip. Rhinoplasty can also be employed to alter nostril shape and widen or shorten the space from the nose base to the upper lip. In some cases, rhinoplasty can be used to correct nasal breathing issues as well.
The duration of the nose surgery varies according to each individual case. Some minor rhinoplasty can be performed under local anesthesia, allowing the patient to be awake but sedated during the procedure. More involved surgeries require general anesthesia and can last several hours, keeping the patient entirely comfortable throughout the Rhinoplasty procedure.
As there are so many variations in regard to nose shape and size - including nostril, tip, and bridge details - it's essential that you choose a surgeon who has skill in assessing the entire facial area. At NHPS, our expert facial plastic surgeon Dr. Webb takes your whole face into account, looking far beyond just the nose, to determine the needed modifications for your ideal end result.
